Hourglass with plastic bottles. Kids craft

Here is a very simple and practical experiment to do with children: we teach you to do a sand clock with two plastic bottles.

It won't take you long, and kids will love it. Write down everything you need and follow this step by step of this fantastic craft with recycled material.

  • Two plastic bottles
  • sand or salt
  • Colored chalks
  • Insulating tape
  • Pair of scissors
  • Funnel
  • American tape

1. If you use salt and you want it to be colored, add some salt to a plate and color it with chalk.

2. If the salt is very thick, you can crush it with a mortar.

2. Pour the already colored salt into one of the plastic bottles. You can use a funnel.

3. Cover the bottle with tape and poke a hole in the center. That it is not too small, because otherwise the salt will get stuck.

4. Glue the other bottle (without cap) to the other with the help of electrical tape.

5. To find out how long your hourglass is, you just have to check it. It has a stopwatch the seconds it takes for the salt to fall from the bottle. If you want it to be an exact minute, try adding more sand or removing if it exceeds the minute ... And you have it!
